Chakra was in the library, reading a heavy textbook set on the table. She had her hand on her forehead in irritation, scanning over the same paragraphs for the thousandth time already. She didn't want to fail these exams, of course. So she studied a lot, and therefore lost her sleep.
She's been cranky for the past week or so. A bit if grey under her eyes, extremely bad attitude to the people who piss her off, all from lack of sleep. She knows her friends are concerned, she knows that it'll kill her chances of having enough energy to think when doing the exams themselves! She's got Training skills, Algebra, how much stress could be possibly pushed down on her all at once?
Suddenly, another school girl ran into the library pale as though she had seen a ghost. "THE BASILISK TOOK SOMEBODY!"
"Shhh!!!!"
"Sorry, uhh..." she walked up to Chakra, seeing as she was the nearest person. She sounded frightened, was shaking, and sobbing silently. "C-could you help me? the basilisk took somebody!" she whispered. Chakra looked up at her. "It's just a silly rumor, Alice. Don't be ridiculous."
"B-But it t-t-took somebody in there! I was walking along the hallway, seeing a student go down in the basement. It's off limits and all, so I went down to remind him! But when I reached the bottom of the stairs well... I saw blood at the bottom step!! So I... I just ran!!" Chakra looked at Alice with concern. She turned to her friend Azurii and Makena, sitting there with her and she awaited for their response.

Azurii was reading a novel of her interest. She peeked over when she saw Alice running over to Chakra, but put it down when she mentioned the basilisk.
"You know, rumor or not I think we should check out if there's really blood. I may be new to the school and all, but I've never seen the basement. I mean, if it's a trick..." Azurii cupped her hand around Chakra's ear and whispered into it. "We could just trick them back, you know... 'cept harder." Then she sat back into her seat, waiting for Makena's final response. Normally, when herself and Makena have a say Chakra makes the final desicion. She's like the leader of their little group.

Chakra put her thumb and finger on her chin, thinking hard before Makena spoke. What if this was a trick? What if it was just a prank to prank one of the most mischevious pranksters of the high school area? It would humiliate Chakra and her friends greatly and could hurt their reputation around St. Lumen's Academy.
But already Chakra was thinking mischief. On her little scale of one to ten, the prank they would pull on her would be rated an eight out of ten. But Chakra has the knack for the ten outta tens. On the inside she felt that miuschevious smile spread across her face with her face on the outside still looking stern and unemotional. She looked at the nervous Alice, as she still shivered and shook. Was this girl acting? Was she telling the truth? She was stuttering and everything, sobbing too. The basilisk was, a silly rumor... right?

Makena looked up from the essay she was given, seeing all of the eyes set on her. Why did she always end up the last one to decide things?
"Well... you do know the consequence of trying to trick one of the ultimate pranksters, right?" she said to Alice. She pointed to Chakra. "And you don't want to get pranked by her. You know our reputation." She turned to Chakra. "I say we go for it." And then she sent a message through telepathy to Chakra.
And we could just blast whatever trap they've got to bits or prank them back with a twelve out of ten... Makena knows Chakra all too well. And that's why Chakra's an ultimate prankster; she can do twelve out of tens. Like that time one of Zero's stupid friends did that classic bucket of water on top of a slightly ajar door when she walked in the classroom one day in front of the whole class of popular people. One word: embarassment. Dang, even though it was only a three out of ten prank, the embarrassment level hit her thirty times harder, especially when the bucket landed on her head. Man, the twelve she pulled on them hit them so hard it hit them a hundred times harder than it should.
First, she made the lights in that particular classroom go out since she's got a charm for electricity. Then with just a touch of electric magic and a microphone, she transferred her voice to the PA in the classroom. With a ghostly whisper she called the guy's name and freaked him out so much (he's supersticious, that's the best part) that he tried to go out the door, but since Chakra was holding the door closed he just ended up having his hair stand up from his head. When he finally got it open, a string hanging from above made a bucket of glue tip over and splatter all over him. And along with a bag of feathers. And at the door, Chakra was holding out a giant feather and a plastic beak. It was hilarious when she said, "You forgot your tail and beak, chicken-boy..." Good times, good times...

Azurii nodded at Makena's reply. She closed her book and stood up from the table. "Let's plan it out while we're in the hallway, so we don't make too much noise in here," she said.
How complicated does the plan have to be? I mean, it's just checking if there's blood or not. If they tried pushing Chakra down the stairs, they'd just end up paying for her hospital bill and getting sued. Or killing her and get themselves expelled.
But what if there was a basilisk? She's still new to the school, after all. She knows of Chakra's pranking streak, how there are plenty of rumors and myths about this school she hears in the girl's locker room, and now she doesn't know whether to believe if there was something down in the basement. Wasn't it off limits anyhow? If the idiot believed there was a basilisk, he wouldn't be stupid to waltz in there. Either way, he's screwed. If the idiot went down there he'd be sure to get caught and get a major detention.
What was there to lose if they just checked it out?

Chakra stood up and shut the giant textbook.
"Then let's go see what the crap is going on down there." She said, leading them out of the library. They crossed several corners of hallways, twisting and turning until they came to the abandoned hallways. These were once where the middle-schoolers went, but then they made a new area for them and left this one as an extra. The Students came to call it "The Basilisk's Wing" because of the basilisk that supposedly lives in the basement in this area. It was only a very small portion of the school, 7.5% to be exact.
Cobwebs hung and rats went about, with the smell of rotten food and rat crud stinging Chakra's nostrils. The walls seemed green with mold, and the dimming lights flickered on and off. It was damp, dirty, and alltogether completely filthy. Down at the end of the hallway, they came to the door that hung open.
"Alice, what were you doing here in the first place?" she turned to ask her.
"I-I think it was Zero who went down there..." And suddenly, there was a low hiss coming from the basement.
Chakra's eyes went wide. "That moron!!" She immediately dashed for the basement door, opening it and staring down at the darkness. She turned back to the others.
"Well? Are you two coming with me?"

Makena was always grossed out at this place, once dared to walk in here herself. She did, when she was ten, and got a weeks worth of detentions by getting caught by a teacher when he heard her screaming from the rats. She hugged her arms close, eyeing the cobwebs that hung high and the insects that crawled all over the place.
A large spider dropped down, landing on her head.
She screamed so loudly, that the others were lucky not to go deaf. She grabbed the spider and threw it all the wall, and if you weren't deaf from her screaming you could hear the squish noise when it landed. It crawled away limping. Makena was panting deeply.
"Sorry, spider... really big one... yikes..." she said. When Alice said it was Zero who went down there, Makena became more aware of this situation instead of the gunk around them.
"Zero? You're kidding..." she said. She ran to Chakra by the door. Then she turned to wait for Azurii to react.

Azurii pretty much didn't care about the gunk that surrounded this place. If she stepped on a bug, so be it. If she stepped on a rat, then so be it.
But when it was Zero being heard down there, she stopped and gave a groan. "Do we have to go down there?" She winced at the same time saying this. Chakra would still yell at her to go down there, no matter how much Azurii despises her brother's immature behavior. How could Chakra stand that imbosile's wild ways of just... pulling crazy stunts? Now this crazy stunt was going to just get him killed. He's already popular enough, why does he have to go further than that?
But just in case, Azurii yelled out his name. "Zero! If it's you down there, just yell out,'I hate pulling crazy stunts!'."
"What?! They're NOT crazy stunts!!" came a voice from the basement; definately Zero. Azurii's eyes went wide. If her parents found out that she let Zero go down there and get himself get killed, she was sooo busted...
She ran past Makena and Chakra and down into the basement of the Basilisk.

Chakra ran after Azurii and down into the basement. Once they were at the landing, the light from the doorway above them showed the fresh blood at their feet. Chakra felt uneasy for a moment, until she heard a low hiss at the other side of the room.
She gulped. This was so not a prank. Once everyone except Alice was at the basement, SLAM! went the basement door, and Chakra's eyes went wide. She turned back to the room to adjust her eyes to the darkness, and then she turned back to the door. "That IDIOT! She doesn't realize that once we get out of here, she is SO done for!" she shouted, and then froze like a statue when she heard the hissing come closer.

Makena hurried after Chakra. And once they reached the landing, she screamed an ear-drum-piercing scream. "Is that Zero's... blood?!?!!" she shouted. She began to feel weary and paranoid, wanting to run back up the stairs. But when she turned to the doorway, she saw Alice's face showing mischief and demisig deception; it was a set-up. Or was it? Because Makena shivered when she heard the low hissing from the other side of the room. The door slammed shut, and Makena whimpered. "Cha-Cha, what're we gonna do?!"
When she heard the hissing inch closer, she shrank back against the wall. "This is all just a prank, this is all just a prank, this is all just a prank..." Makena whimpered, covering her ears. The hissing sounded so real...

"Chakra? Is that you out there?" Azurii heard Zero's voice coming from the closet on the other side of the room. She heard the hissing and a serpent's shadow turn back to the other side of the room. Azurii swore under her breathe when she saw the light go out and the door slam itself shut.
Alice, that idiot. Zero, that complete moron. He just gave away where he was and now he can be located by that thing. She thought. Her amber eye flashed, giving her a premonition of the unfortunate; It showed Alice falling down the stairs when the door slammed in her face. Then when she was at the landing, she was to be devoured by the basilisk of the so-called-myth.
Bah, serves her right for putting us down here, she thought. When her eyes grew used to the darkness, she looked ahead at the door at the other side of the room. Why couldn't she get a vision about Zero? Her visions were just misfortune and unlucky events; meaning that he would not get eaten by the basilisk. But how and why? Only Zero could see that part of the future.

A rush of fear fell over Chakra. "Zero! You idiot, shut up or the basilisk will get to you!" she shouted, as she heard the basilisk hissing turn back to them.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Azurii's amber eye flash; a sign that she received a premonition. "Azurii, what did you see? Is Zero going to be okay?" Chakra's eyes and face showed a look of concern, her voice at a level of seriousness. She turned to Makena.
"Mak, calm down. We'll find a way out of this," she said, turning to the sound of hissing.
"Go on, try to eat us! I'd like to see you try!" she shouted at the basilisk. "Zero, get out of there and we'll distract the basilisk!" Chakra began to charge electricity in her arms. She put her two fingers against each other, and pulled them away slowly as if they were pulled together like magnets. Blue sparks flew off of this magnetic attraction. When they were pulled apart, blue charges of electricity could be seen running up her arms and into her palms. She abruptly brought her hands together and set them in a parallel position, therefore shooting lightning at the basilisk.

Makena tried her best to concentrate. She closed her eyes to the setting of the training room, where all the weapons were held. Of course, all of the students were disciplined to keep them in there until their training sessions or if there were any sort of emergency. But of course, this was a fatal emergency. She caught sight of her guns, hanging on the wall next to Azurii and Chakra's weapons. She concentrated really hard.
Though summoning and teleporting seem alike, they're actually quite different. In summoning, you mainly summon living beings instead of objects. When objects are summoned, it will take up more energy. Teleporting can only transport the person with the ability or the person the teleporter is in physical contact with. They can teleport objects a lot more easily than a summoner can.
Makena got a hold of her weapons. She aimed at where Chakra was shooting her lightning and fired her ice bullets.

"I'm not sure. Keep in mind I can only see the misfortunate events. Alice is going to fall down these steps and get eaten by the basilisk!"
She turned to where she knew Zero was. "Get the hell outta there you moron, or else I'll have to come after you myself!!"
Banging was heard on the door of the other side of the room. "Azurii!! Azurii!!!" Azurii groaned in aggrivation and darted around the distracted and angered basilisk. the tail swung in her direction, but she slid under it right away from seeing its shadow and got her skirt dirty. She scrambled to her feet and rammed into the door that Zero was behind.
"Azurii!! It's LOCKED!!" Zero screamed. "And I can't SEE!!"
Man, Zero's never sounded so scared before. Azurii smiled. "What if we just... I donno, left you there?"
Banging and screaming. "NOOO!! AZURII! LEMME OUT! PLEEEEEAAAASEE!!"
(**Use of Makena's voice permission was granted**) "AZURII! HURRY UP BACK THERE! We can't hold it off much longer!"
"Ugh! Fine!"
She strolled over to the closet and opened it, finding Zero lying on his side and tied up. He was blinded with a piece of cloth around his head. He was in a position where he was kicking the door. She had no time to cut him free, so she immediately began dragging him around the basilisk. She managed to get him to the staircase. She began to drag him up the steps.

The basilisk hissed and began to back off. Chakra shot a bolt of lightning at the door and blasted it into pieces, giving them a way out. Letting Makena take over in attacking the basilisk, she went to help Azurii carry Zero up the steps.
Alice jumped back with the pieces of the door and was a bit electricuted from Chakra's lightning. Her hair frizzed up a bit but she recovered from the blow. She stood up, seeing the two girls carrying Zero up the steps. Hey, this was supposed to be payback for completely humiliating her boyfriend. They weren't supposed to come back out. But when she heard the hissing, she froze. She almost had commited murder by sending them down there instead of getting freaked out by the myth. She was going to be in so much trouble in attempted murder, and the victims were alive.
